Saved scenarios in your browser

Saved calculator scenarios use your browser’s local storage. They can contain the assumptions and amounts you choose to save. Local storage belongs to the browser profile you are using; it is not a cross-device account or a secure place for account credentials.

You can remove locally saved information through your browser’s site-data settings for coastfire.co. Doing so removes saved scenarios from that browser. Private browsing, storage restrictions or clearing browser data can also affect whether a scenario remains available.

Local storage describes where the saved copy lives. It is not, by itself, a guarantee about every network request made by a website.

Visiting the website

Your browser sends connection information when requesting a page, such as an IP address and browser details. The services delivering and protecting the site may process technical information to serve those requests and investigate failures or misuse.

This is separate from the calculator’s saved scenarios. Do not include personal financial details in a page URL or send them in a bug report.

If you contact us

When you email or call, you share the contact details and message content you choose to provide. Email also passes through the services used to deliver and receive it. Use a hypothetical example instead of sending financial records when asking about a calculation.

Your choices and data questions

You can clear locally saved scenarios without contacting us. For information held outside your browser, contact us to ask what applies to your request. Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to access or correct personal information, request its deletion or restriction, object to processing, or complain to a data-protection authority. These rights can be subject to legal conditions.

Follow the links and privacy notices on other websites before sharing information with them. A link from a guide does not bring that other site under this notice.

This preview’s implementation

This build is prepared for Cloudflare Pages hosting. When served there, Cloudflare receives the technical connection information needed to deliver and protect pages. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy for its processing of website connection data. No analytics beacon, advertising code or third-party font request is installed by this application. We have not enabled an anonymous visit counter. The application does not set cookies.

Calculator arithmetic runs in your browser. The application does not send calculator inputs or saved scenario names to a server. The application uses the local-storage key coastfire.scenarios.v1 only when you choose Save baseline. Each saved item contains a name, the selected goal and return modes, age, balance, spending or goal, rate, inflation, withdrawal and contribution inputs. At most 20 scenarios are stored. Inputs are not added to page URLs.

Saved items remain in this browser profile until you delete them, clear site data or the browser removes them. The Delete button asks for confirmation. Browser storage can be unavailable; the calculator still works without saving.
