About Coastfire.co
Coastfire.co explains one retirement-planning question: what might happen if you let existing investments grow toward a future goal without adding more?
The site combines a Coast FIRE calculator with guides to spending-based portfolio targets. It is an educational resource. This is not financial advice.
What the calculator is for
The aim is to make assumptions visible. A result should show the retirement date, spending or portfolio target, return basis and contributions used to produce it. You can then compare a different assumption rather than treating one date as a certainty.
The calculation guide describes compound growth, inflation adjustment and the treatment of contributions. The formula is not a forecast of what a particular fund or account will earn.
What we do not decide for you
The site does not recommend particular investments, choose your retirement date or confirm a withdrawal rate as safe. Its simplified projections do not calculate individual tax liabilities, benefit eligibility or every possible pattern of market returns.
A calculator also cannot decide whether a smaller income, a different job or a particular budget is right for your household. Consider qualified professional advice for decisions that depend on your personal circumstances.
Help keep the explanation clear
If a label, equation or example seems wrong, please contact us with the page address and the part that needs checking. For a calculator issue, hypothetical inputs are enough; there is no need to share account details.
